2010 Shot Show Recap

The 2010 Shot Show was a great success. A new venue at the Sands Convention Center kept everyone in one place and out of the record setting rain that inundated Las Vegas during the show. Vendors, manufacturers and attendees from all over the world flocked to Vegas to see the latest products, trainings and techniques for hunting, fishing, and law enforcement applications.

Oklahoma Authorities Looking for 3 Escaped Inmates

*FORT SUPPLY, Okla. —  Authorities in northeast Oklahoma said they were still looking Saturday for three men who escaped from a state prison at Fort Supply a day earlier.  William S. Key Correction Center warden's assistant Linda Eike identified the escaped men as 20-year-old Dennis W. Finch, 22-year-old Jake D. Trout and 20-year-old Christopher D. Hibl. She said they escaped around 10:15 p.m. Friday.*

Two Putnam County jail employees arrested

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two of its own employees in an insurance fraud case.  Cpl. Anthony Michael Harris, 36, was arrested on charges of insurance fraud and obstruction of justice. Officer Timothy Chisholm, 30, was charged with obstruction of justice.

Corcoran prison guard stabbed by inmate

CORCORAN, Calif. -- A correctional officer was stabbed by an inmate Tuesday at the state prison at Corcoran [1].  The female guard was stabbed in the head with a makeshift weapon in a housing unit at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility, according to prison public information officer Michele Kane. Manhunt continues in Vinton after inmate escapes

Officials from Phelps Correctional are still searching for Jamaul LeBleu, who walked away from a work detail in Vinton on Wednesday.  Patrols are still in the area searching northeast of the racetrack in Vinton.  Officials still believe that he is in the area, but no sightings have been reported since Wednesday.

S.L. jail inmate tries to kill another with a sock

A Salt Lake County Jail inmate nearly strangled another with a sock while they were in a holding cell together.  Salt Lake City police say a 35-year-old man being booked into jail on numerous retail theft, public intoxication and disturbing the peace misdemeanors, now faces second-degree felony aggravated assault allegations as well.

Corrections officer arrested for trafficking drugs into prison

Police arrested one of their own today after he was discovered trafficking drugs into Cumberland County Jail.  Toby M. Post, 38, is a Cumberland County correction officer. He was arrested on two counts of Trafficking in Prison Contraband.

Inmate injured in fight at federal prison

COLEMAN, Fla. -- An inmate at a central Florida federal prison was seriously injured during a fight.  Prison officials say the inmate was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital Tuesday morning after a fight in the in the high-security wing of Federal Correctional Complex in Coleman. A second inmate and prison staff were not injured in the fight.
